The contamination of groundwater by heavy metals poses a significant and persistent threat to public health and environmental sustainability. Traditional methods for monitoring water quality are often fragmented, time-consuming, and labor-intensive, involving manual data collection, complex offline calculations, and delayed reporting. This latency creates a critical gap between data acquisition and actionable environmental policy, leaving communities vulnerable to unseen risks.
To address these challenges, we have developed the HMPI-Analyzer, a smart, centralized web platform designed to automate and streamline the assessment of groundwater quality using the Heavy Metal Pollution Index (HMPI). The application is built on a modern, full-stack architecture, featuring a React (Vite) frontend for a dynamic user experience and a Node.js (Express) backend for robust data processing. Supabase is utilized as an integrated backend-as-a-service for the PostgreSQL database, user authentication, and file storage.
