An 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐜 𝐦𝐢𝐱𝐞𝐫 is a tiny device built directly into a microchannel to mix fluids, providing fast and uniform mixing in microscale volumes. For researchers working with laminar flow, that kind of built-in control can really simplify your experiments.

Recently, our team 3D printed an embedded microfluidic mixer* using 𝐂𝐲𝐭𝐨-𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐧 on the 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐅𝐥𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝟐𝟖𝟓𝐃. In about 4 hours, we had 4 mixers printed, and all of them came off the printer in clean, workable condition.

The fun part was testing: we flowed blue and yellow dyes into the channel and watched under the microscope as they gently mixed and gradually turned into a uniform green. Simple, but very satisfying to see the mixer doing its job in real time.
