PBS North Carolina (formerly UNC-TV) is a public television network serving the state of North Carolina, which is operated by the University of North Carolina system, which holds the licenses for all but one of the thirteen PBS member television stations licensed in the state. WUNC-TV, the state network's flagship station, first aired on January 8, 1955. PBS North Carolina has changed their name many times during its years, from North Carolina Public Television to University of North Carolina Television, which then changed to UNC-TV, and finally, UNC-TV changed its name to PBS North Carolina in 2021.
