Excepts from AFROBEATS: The BACKSTORY, the first documentary on the music genre that has taken over the world, filmed over 20 years by Ayo Shonaiya. Premiered on NETFLIX on the 29th of June 2022, the 12 Episode series tells the story of Afrobeats from its early beginnings in the late 90s in Lagos Nigeria to the first Grammy in 2021, featuring exclusive interviews and rare footage of the pioneers and the people that created and pushed the music worldwide.
