ZeroRanger White Vanilla: 1cc Z-Rank w/ Type C

Описание к видео ZeroRanger White Vanilla: 1cc Z-Rank w/ Type C

This video is dedicated to all the Type C mains out there.

Last June, Team Se updated ZeroRanger with a new game mode, White Vanilla. It's a far shorter and easier experience than the main Green Orange mode, with a focus on wiping out enemy waves as fast as possible instead of building up a score multiplier. The levels are split into different sections, and you're graded on each section based on the number of hits you took, the time you spent, and the percent of enemies you destroyed. Z is the highest ranking you can get.

This was by far one of the craziest achievements I pulled off. Z-ranking the whole mode requires no-missing from start to finish (not counting this mode's TLB), but it's still possible to achieve if you use continues and stage restarts. To Z-rank AND 1cc means dealing with the game's rank as it drives the difficulty to absurd levels to match your perfect level of play. The Orb-Spewer boss is an especially notable example of rank's effects, since on lower ranks you can just sit on him with the drill the whole time, but with perfect rank it took me approx. two months to figure out a sure strat for beating him. This run required me to go out of my comfort zone, forgoing safe survival strats and pulling off precise and risky maneuvers in order to fulfill the Z-rank requirements for each section.

I could go on and on about all the thought put into each strat and all the factors that affect them, but that wouldn't fit the 5000 character limit of Youtube's description, and it certainly wouldn't fit in the caption commentary. Besides, I doubt it would appeal to anyone except for the hardcore ZR players. So I've decided to use the commentary to give a summary of the run's details, just enough to help viewers understand what's going on. Last thing to note is that a Z-rank run is different from a score run, since it score-gain is more optimal in some areas if you outright ignore the grading system. If you want to see a proper score run, I highly recommend the vid for the current WR (as of 9/29), which was set by Zaerock. You can find it here:    • ZeroRanger [White Vanilla]: 1,559,145...
