"Rocketmania", 1997.
Rocketmania formed in 1996. That June, the group released its first demo, "Her Days", which was limited to 120 copies. In September of 1996, Rocketmania released their second demo, "Shoot Up", and later released their third demo, which was self-titled, in February of 1997. Rocketmania went on to tour throughout the remainder of 1997, but eventually ended up folding late that year. Guitarist Yukihiro went on to join the visual group Couch≫Case, which he was active in until its eventual disbandment in 2003. The bassist of Rocketmania, Toshiaki, went on to join the obscure underground group Spoil Egg (スポイル・エッグ), which dissolved by 2000. The drummer of Rocketmania, Marce, went on to join the obscure underground group Plastic Man (プラスチックマン), and later joined the equally obscure BaBe Box, although both would soon dissolve. He then reunited with Toshiaki as a member of the group PeeP, which would split in 2003. Marce then temporarily retired from the underground music scene, while Toshiaki joined the highly obscure group 299, which split as well by 2006. In 2006, after nearly a decade apart, Rocketmania surprisingly reunited, with Toshiaki returning from his retirement to join. The group would tour a bit throughout the year and 2007, but eventually folded a second time by the end of 2007. After its second split, the only member of the group who remained active in the underground music scene was Yukihiro, who would reunite with Couch≫Case in 2009, until it dissolved again in 2012. He then became a support musician for a few indies groups before retiring from the underground music scene in general by 2015. In 2023, Couch≫Case reunited once more with Yukihiro returning from his retirement as a member, and he remains somewhat active in the group today.
