Moses Concas - Strays (LIVE IN CAGLIARI)

Ogni tanto mi piace tornare per strada a salutare la mia città. Questo pezzo si chiama "Strays" e vuol dire "Randagi".
Randagio viene dal greco randa e significa: orlo, bordo. Eh si..sono un randagio allora. Sono un randagio perché ho capito che suonando per strada, vivendo ai bordi, compiendo un percorso che non in tanti fanno, diverso dal solito, lí in quella differenza si nascondeva la mia libertà, ed insieme ad essa anche un'irripetibile opportunità: quella di vivere fuori da ogni paragone, da ogni giudizio e da ogni aspettativa.
Il testo è nato come un messaggio alla mia mamma, la quale quando iniziai a suonare per strada e lasciai gli studi all'Università di Fisica, si mostrò preoccupata per il mio futuro. E' stato il mio modo per rassenerarla, per dirle che la musica era con me, che mi stava curando, e che io per strada stavo davvero bene.
Vivere come artista di strada per anni è stato la chiave di svolta della mia vita, non solo perchè mi la strada mi ha dato un palco per suonare, ma soprattutto perché ho fatto chiarezza su quello che mi spinge a fare musica: e la risposta sono io, è la mia vita. Vivere suonando per strada mi ha permesso di trasformare la mia depressione in azione, mi ha dato il coraggio di mettermi a nudo, e ha innescato dentro di me un motore capace di rivoluzionare la mia vita partendo dalle mie sofferenze, facendo si che la mia stessa vulnerabilità potesse diventare esempio e spunto per il prossimo. Diversamente dal passato dove mi mostravo forte e cercavo di nasconderla dietro una maschera. Ecco dove sta' la forza: la forza di ognuno di noi parte dall'accettare le proprie debolezze, e dichiararle ad alta voce.. imparare ad essere forti a seguire i propri sogni, vivere il nostro senso della vita. Solo così trasformeremo il veleno in medicina, e così le nostre avversità in opportunità. Grazie e buona rivoluzione umana. NMRK

Every now and then I like to go back to the streets to say hello to my city. This piece is called "Strays".
Stray comes from the Greek and means: edge, border. Oh yes...I'm a stray then. I am a stray because I understood that playing on the street, living on the edges, following a path that not many do, different from the usual, there in that difference my freedom was hidden, and together with it also an unrepeatable opportunity: live outside of any comparison, any judgment and any expectation.
The text was born as a message to my mother, who when I started busking and left my studies at the University of Physics, she was worried about my future. It was my way to reassure her, to tell her that the music was with me, that the music was healing me, and that I was really fine on the street.
Living as a street artist for years was the turning point in my life, not only because the street gave me a stage to play, but above all because I clarified what drives me to make music: and the answer is me, it's my life. Living by playing on the street allowed me to transform my depression into action, it gave me the courage to lay myself bare, and it triggered an engine within me capable of revolutionizing my life starting from my sufferings, ensuring that my own vulnerability could become an example and inspiration for others. Unlike in the past where I showed myself strong and tried to hide it behind a mask. This is where the strength lies: the strength of each of us starts from accepting our own weaknesses, and declaring them out loud... learning to be strong, to follow our dreams, to live our meaning of life.
