On November 15, 2024, U.S. soldiers from the 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment set up the advanced Sentinel radar system during the Shield South exercise. "This radar not only provides a clear air picture for firing units, but also allows higher echelons to gather critical strategic information," said Second Lieutenant Gabbi McElyea. The exercise aims to strengthen integrated air and missile defense capabilities, with a focus on the rapid deployment of Short-Range Air Defense systems. Through this training, the coordination and response between units are tested to ensure airspace security and reinforce defense alliances.
