How to catch Sheepshead 101

Описание к видео How to catch Sheepshead 101

This is for anyone who wants to learn how to target Sheepshead. I hope this helps at least one person. It’s effective and hasn’t let me down yet. Here, you’ll get to see me catch a sheepshead AKA “Convicts” (Due to their black and white pattern that resembles the vintage jailhouse jumpsuits that inmates would wear when in jail.) These fish are tricky and if you you use a “J” hook then let the fish take the shrimp for a second, because if you set the hook too soon it will just scrape across the sheepshead’s many rows of teeth and pull the hook. It’s ideal to use a small “live bait hook”(#2) the live bait hook is designed to assist the hook by finding that sweet spot in corner of a the fish’s mouth. I also use a 2-3ft long, 20lb test, mono leader as an attempt to disguise the bait a bit better, and possibly withstand mild line fraying from the barnacles under the dock, or on the pilings. I also noticed that although I’ve caught a few Sheepshead at night… I’ve had much better luck in the morning and mid day. I’ve seen docks that were lit up with underwater lights, show us how they leave and go elsewhere at night. Some would circle back, but never stayed. Please let me know how you liked this video! I’m learning and evolving. See you in the next one. 😉 #fishfrenzycrew
