HG Homie Matt Tyler began riding in 2005. His presence on the scene ebbs and flows, but he always eventually finds his way back to scootering. He rides for fun; always has, always will. Matt took some time away from scootering to finish college, marry his wife, Chloe, and land a steady job. After an 8 year hiatus, he wanted to make another contribution to the sport.

Some words from Matt:
Thank you Riley, Anton, Jonny, and Chloe for the support in my reentry to the world of scootering. I underwent immense growth as a man during my time away, and have loved every second of getting back into the first sport I’ve ever truly loved. I plan to ride until I break, so here’s to many more years of scootering!

I’m absolutely astonished by our finished product and I’m so proud to say that years of hard work have paid off. From a quick project on the off-time we had to a full fledged production I’m so excited to finally release this video with Matt. Filming with Matt as a rider has been an incredible experience start to finish and he blows me away with every trick he somehow seems to pull off. So here’s to Matt! A great rider, friend, and role model.

Facts about the video:
⁃ Filming began in June 2021, and finished February 2024.
⁃ The project began as a fun street/park throwaway edit to foster the potential Matt saw in Riley’s talent with a camera. The filming sessions rekindled Matt’s love for scootering and filming, and Riley’s skills were quickly growing. The desire to make a full on street edit naturally blossomed, so Matt and Riley committed to filming and editing a full video part for fun to see where things could go.
⁃ Riley and Matt filmed for a few hours at a time at sunrise and sunset on weekdays, and half days on weekends, to work around Matt’s 9-5 day job and commitment to his wife.
⁃ It was just Matt and Riley the entire time, from filming, to editing, and scouting spots.
⁃ The ender was first attempted in November 2023, and was landed February 2024. It involved 4 filming sessions, 2 solo training sessions by Matt at the spot, and over 250 attempts to land. The day it was landed it took approximately 110-120 attempts.
⁃ All spots were filmed in Yucaipa, Redlands, and San Bernardino, near where Matt and Riley live in Yucaipa CA.
⁃ Matt broke his hand in the first clip of the video on 3/24/2022 during warm ups. It was a fracture in his left thumb. He returned on 3/25/2023 and landed the trick he wanted for that spot.
⁃ On the bail where the song cuts out, Matt sacked the rail so hard that he bled through his underwear. He got back up and attempted the lip slide 4 more times before calling it a day. He didn’t notice the blood until he got home. There was a scab and contusion on his family jewels for quite some time afterwards, but fortunately he made a full recovery without any medical intervention. His wife was not happy, so he committed to wearing an athletic cup for future sessions involving rails. This is why the sack on the ender rail during the credits doesn’t seem to affect him as much. Matt still wants to get to the bottom of that rail someday.
