Mario and the Forgotten Adventures is a mid-length kaizo hack by TheWWMResident. This wasn't a super long or difficult hack, but it did take me a while to complete due to the hack's confusing and puzzle-like nature, which is why I felt it deserved a playthrough video. This hack definitely takes a lot of inspiration from hacks like Mario's Nightmare, Treasure World, and Night of Doom, but it also has a lot of unique ideas on its own.

My favorite level was definitely course 6, as it was mostly solid kaizo gameplay with great music, while my least favorite level was easily the 120 coin star in Forgotten Lands IV, for reasons I don't think I have to explain.

Overall, this was a pretty mixed hack in my opinion. While there were a ton of stars and ideas that I loved, a lot of the gameplay is super cryptic and there are a lot of questionable gameplay decisions (the location of the cap stages, poor collision in Dat Kanji, the confusing traversal of the academy stages, Forgotten Lands IV in general, etc). I felt like I needed a guide for a large chunk of the playthrough, which made me not as motivated to finish the hack and likely explained the long playtime. A lot of my issues are mostly from personal preference though, so I do recommend trying this hack out yourself for a kaizo experience you can't really get anywhere else.
