Most Apple products include a one-year limited warranty that covers hardware failures and manufacturing flaws, as well as up to 90 days of free technical support. Apple offers AppleCare+ or the AppleCare Protection Plan as additional coverage options. With an increased upfront fee, deductibles, and a range of costs for every Apple product,


The standard warranty that comes with your device is simply a limited warranty, which is common for consumer electronics. This warranty ensures that the product will function as expected for up to a year, or two years in the case of the Apple Watch Edition. If something materially breaks within that timeframe and it is not the user's fault, Apple will fix it for free.
This warranty is also automatically applied regardless of where the product is purchased, and it is transferable to a new owner if the item is sold within a year. Simply provide the buyer with your proof of purchase to transfer the warranty.

Some restrictions apply, and the length of the standard warranty may vary depending on your location.


AppleCare and AppleCare+

AppleCare service and support plans provide additional coverage beyond the standard one-year warranty.

AppleCare+ is Apple's extended warranty plan for most products, and it provides up to two or three years of hardware coverage (depending on the product), as well as coverage for up to two incidents of accidental damage every 12 months (subject to service fees).

AppleCare initially did not cover accidental damage, but Apple has gradually shifted most products to AppleCare+ eligibility to provide that additional coverage. A few products, such as Apple TV, are still eligible for standard AppleCare only, with no accidental damage coverage.
