Braumeister 10L First Brew - CrayWerks Ep 3

Like many things done for the first time there are lessons to be learned. With this brew I took all the research I had done on the Braumeister and decided to throw it out the window and just go for it. Mistakes include too much mass and volume of grains. Probably poor crush setting for the BM from my home brew store. Not checking mash pH. The end beer turned out ok and should still pull 10% ABV but I needed to do an extend boil and will suffer on total volume. We will be putting this beer into a small 5L Bourbon barrel, so volume was not a huge concern. Still there were many mistakes made here and I hope you can learn from them as I have.
