So you're looking for a decent NV scope but you don't want to break the bank.... Well keep looking, the resolution is so bad you ca. Hardly make out what you're planning to shoot. The NV is weak at best and overall, just spend the 2k and get you a 3rd gen! I've had problems with sight since the day I got it. I've taken this gun to the range 6 different times with the same results. I've mounted the scope on three different guns to no avail, I really had high hope for the sight but they fell short of my expectations. I was shooting this 5x20 sight at 100 yards with little to no wind and the wind I did have was coming from my back.

It looks promising but died before I could even test it so I sent back for a refund. Hopefully, they get the QC issues resolved soon. I got a very short time to try the various features and, as their website says, it's definitely the future of night vision -- that is when it works, of course. Right now, it's the future of doorstops.

On a six-point scale I would make it as a 3, but on a five-point scale, I don't want to give the perception that the scope is better than it really is. I'm only recommending the scope based on its features, setup and the fact that it really will provide some night vision capabilities as described.

I ordered the scope prior to the release. I guess we all know what kind of chances we take doing that...with that said I assumed that most of the bugs had been worked out since ATN already had a previous version. Just a few things to consider when purchasing this scope. These are not in any particular order, but...

1) I have requested information from ATN for several weeks now through email, support, and phone. No answer or replies.
2) I can not get the unit to accept that it has an external power source hooked up. Thus using batteries like crazy. At this rate, I will have half the cost of the scope wrapped up in the cost of batteries.
3) The IR provided is the pretty week so you will need to purchase a larger IR for longer range viewing.

I've had the scope for several weeks now and I really considering returning if I don't hear back from ATN on my request for information on an external power supply.
