On the first day of my summer break, I went on an early morning trip to Oakville to spot some trains. The first was VIA 82, which sped through the station at 76 MPH. Since May 2024, VIA 82 no longer stops at Oakville, allowing it to sometimes reach speeds up to 93 MPH past Clarkson, just shy of the line's maximum of 95 MPH. The second sighting was GO E-1012, which zipped by on my track as it moved equipment to Aldershot, soon to be renumbered as GO 1012 for the Toronto route. The third was GO 1010, making its routine stop and departure. The fourth train, VIA 97, featured the Amtrak P42DC 98 in the lead, and the crew kindly gave me two honks while pulling away—a gesture much appreciated!
