The island's top students will be off to their school of choice come September.

Kaiya Walcott of Wills Primary School secured the top spot in this year's Barbados Secondary Schools Entrance Examination with a score of 241.46 and a Grade B.

She has earned a place at Harrison College.

Meanwhile, at St. Paul's Primary, Javanni Carmichael says he is excited to attend Queen’s College. He admitted he didn’t expect to be named the top boy, although he anticipated securing a place at his first choice.

Javanni earned 240.90, also with a Grade B.
