1st Time Trying Soul Food at Sweet Georgia Brown

Описание к видео 1st Time Trying Soul Food at Sweet Georgia Brown

"Soul food is an ethnic cuisine traditionally prepared and eaten by African Americans, originating in the Southern United States. It is commonly believed that the cuisine originated with the foods that were given to enslaved black people by their white owners on Southern plantations during the Antebellum period; however, it was strongly influenced by the traditional practices of West Africans and Southeastern Native Americans from its inception. Due to the historical presence of African Americans in the region, soul food is closely associated with the cuisine of the American South although today it has become an easily identifiable and celebrated aspect of mainstream American food culture". - Wikipedia

Sweet Georgia Brown is a Soul Food staple of Dallas since 1992. On a recommendation of friend I decided to try. What I discovered was some of the most filling southern home cookin I've had ever. Crazy big portions of Fried Pork Chops and a smothered Turkey Wing. Savory sides of Collard Greens and Black Eye Peas which I've never had before has me wanting more already. I felt like a Grandma just whipped up the best brunch with no regard for my arteries or my sleep schedule. You don't want to miss my first experience eating Soul Food. Enough About Me... and More About This Food.
