Smash Psycho 100 | Super Smash Bros x Mob Psycho 100 Opening 1 [99]

This project took roughly four and a half months to finish; probably would've been earlier if it wasn't for school.

I started this animation when the fifth fighter for Fighter Pass 1 got released on Jan 16 2020. Needless to say I felt like butchering every character's personality and background anyways, and some of the characters shown in the animation do not accurately represent them in Smash Bros Ult.

This video is 99% traced, probably, and is a Super Smash Bros Ultimate parody of ONE's "Mob Psycho 100." I do not own anything except for the hand-drawn animation. The only character not included in the animation is the ARMS representative.

I figured there's gonna be questions about the animation so here are some answers.

Q. What is Mob Psycho 100?
A. Quoted from the MP100 wiki:
"Mob Psycho 100 is the story about a young middle schooler, Shigeo Kageyama, nicknamed "Mob" living in Seasoning City. Ever since he was young, he has had astounding psychic powers. However, this esper power is unable to grant him the one thing he wishes for the most: to be friends with the girl he likes in his class."

Q. Why did you choose some characters as they were?
A. Kirby is Shigeo (Mob) because I found him to be the easiest to animate for my first animation. Byleth is Reigen because I decided that whoever was FP5 would be the conman. Yoshi, Pichu, and Ness were chosen randomly to be Dimple, Teruki, and Ritsu, respectively. Everyone else was decided afterwords.

Q. The video looks compressed/grainy in certain parts of the video even in 1080 HD, and there are also some mistakes.
A. Unfortunately, youtube compression causes certain parts of the video to have that look. It might be because there was too much colors/flashing images that gave that compression. I cannot do anything about it; believe me, I tried to fix it but just gave up for my sanity.

If you see any other mistakes in the video, that's probably an oversight on my part. Animating essentially everything using nothing but your phone is not a wise idea.

Q. Do you plan on animating/making more videos on your channel?
A. Probably not.

A. Yep. I have a deviantart and twitter already linked above in the description. I'll also publish the ending sequence of the video that showcases the manga panels. Be warned that they'll contain some anime/manga spoilers of season 1 (and very little bits of season 2).
