The man who opened fire during an anti-CAA protest in Jamia area of New Delhi has been identified as Gopal, a resident of Jewar in Greater Noida. He went live on Facebook moments before a Jamia Milia University student was shot in the hand.
The accused, who has now been taken into custody, allegedly shouted 'who wants azadi' before opening fire.The incident took place when protesters, including students of Jamia Millia Islamia, were marching towards Rajghat to hold a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens.
