Dawki | Krang Suri Falls | Phi Phi Falls | EP4 Meghalaya 2022

Hello Everyone,
In this series we will be travelling across Meghalaya covering the breathtaking waterfalls, lush green landscapes and gorgeous valleys.

We started our journey from Dehradun. We reached Guwahati by air via Kolkata on Day 0. Guwahati to Shillong is a 3 hours journey. We stayed in Shillong on Day 0.

Day 1: We started our journey to Cherrapunji from Shillong. Cherrapunji is known as the wettest place on the earth and famous for its amazing waterfalls. We stayed in Cherrapunji for 2 days.

On the first day, we visited Elephant falls (it's just 12km from Shillong on the way to Cherrapunji), Dainthlen falls, Wah Kaba falls ( couldn’t see the falls due to fog), 7 sisters falls and Mawsmai cave. We unable to visit to Nohkalikai falls on the same day as we got late.

Day2:
Our stay was at Cafe Cherrapunji. Great place with amazing views.

On second day of Cherrapunji we first went to Nohkalikai falls and then to the double decker living root bridge.
Nohkalikai falls is one of the best waterfalls that we have seen in the past. It’s 8km from Sohra. It’s has a height of 340m and is the tallest plunge waterfall in India. There is tragic story behind the name of this waterfall.

Double decker living root bridge is one of a kind in the entire world. It’s 30 minutes drive away from Sohra. The trek start from Tyrna village. Trek is around 3km and has around 3500 steps. The difficulty level is moderate.

Day3:
We travelled to Mawlynnong- The cleanest village in Asia. It’s around 70 kms from Sohra and it takes 2.5 hours to reach there. The rounds are good but landscape is awesome.

Very close to Mawlynnong, there are two tourist spot, the living root bridge at village Riwai and Balancing Rock.

We visited these places first before Mawlynnong.

Mawlynnong is the cleanest place that we have visited so far.
