Being part of Greater Vancouver, Surrey gets a lot of rain. Winters are typically wet with little snow and summers are typically short. The good news is that Surrey has some of the mildest weather in all of Canada with Winters not getting nearly as cold as other provinces and summers not getting overly hot.⁣

𝟐) 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐦𝐚⁣
Unfortunately, Surrey tends to carry a negative stigma. This is at least partially due to its crime and gang activity. However, this is primarily condensed into only a few bad areas. Much of that has been cleaned up as of late so you just need to know where to go and what to avoid!⁣

𝟑) 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜⁣
During rush hour it can take up to 45 minutes to get from one side of the city to the other! Certain main streets are busier during rush hours so you'll want to know which ones to avoid if you can. Also, if you know which back roads to take or can avoid rush hour you'll be okay⁣

𝟒) 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭⁣
Unfortunately, most of Surrey lacks in the rapid transit department as the skytrain is located on the west side. However, most areas have pretty good access to buses. The good news is that a Skytrain extension is coming in the future which will run down Fraser Highway into the east side of Surrey by the year 2028!⁣

𝟓) 𝐒𝐢𝐳𝐞⁣
Geographically Surrey is HUGE! It's the 3rd largest city in BC. Because of its size, you can still find homes on larger lots which means more privacy from your neighbours. There is also lots of ALR (Agricultural Land Reserve) which is essentially farm land as well as a lot of undeveloped land to buy & build your dream home.⁣

𝟔) 𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧⁣
Surrey has the 2nd largest city by population in all of BC and just keeps growing! Over 1000 new residents making the move to Surrey every single month which has Surrey set to overtake Vancouver by the year 2030. The majority of immigration to Surrey comes from India, the Philippines, and China making it a very diverse city⁣

𝟕) 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬⁣
Average prices are high when compared to rest of Canada, however, they're lower than many of the other cities in Greater Vancouver such as Vancouver, Burnaby, and Coquitlam.⁣

𝟖) 𝐆𝐚𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 & 𝐂𝐚𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞⁣
Gas prices & car insurance in BC are some of the highest in the country. One reason is because we only have one insurer (ICBC) which is government run so there are no private companies to create competition. The average cost for car insurance is $1800 annually an gas prices are currently over $2 per litre.⁣
