How to Open AAE Files on Windows 10

AAE files are not image files and cannot be directly "opened" in Windows 10. They are sidecar files used by Apple's Photos app on macOS and iOS to store edits made to JPEG images. They contain XML data referencing the original image and the adjustments applied. To view the edited image, you need to transfer the original JPEG image along with its corresponding AAE file back to an Apple device or software that supports AAE files, like the Photos app. Alternatively, you can ignore the AAE files and simply use the original, unedited JPEG file, or search for third-party software that can interpret AAE files and apply the edits to the original JPEG on Windows, although this is not a common or reliable practice.
