Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri who handed it over on behalf of the Federal Government enjoined communities across the country benefitting from ecological intervention projects to protect them for the good of their people.
He assured that “No project will be abandoned by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, and Government will do what is necessary to ensure that we complete all the projects that are on-going within the limits of available resources”.
Addressing Stakeholders and dignitaries at the project site before it was commissioned, Permanent Secretary, Ecological Fund Office, Dr. (Mrs.) Habiba M. Lawal stated that the Sagbama Erosion Control Project was very dear to the Federal Government of Nigeria, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation had mandated that she welcomed all dignitaries and Stakeholders to the Project Commissioning. She said the Shoreline protection will protect the Sagbama Community against flood waters, and enable them to pursue their economic activities and livelihoods to improve their quality of lives.
Before Commissioning the project, the Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri and the Permanent Secretary Ecological Fund Office, Dr. (Mrs.) Habiba M. Lawal led their Officials on a courtesy call on the Paramount ruler of Sagbama, His Royal Majesty Pere J. S. Akadah Embareba IV, Pere of Kumbowei Kingdom
