Do You Need A Buffer Tank For Your Pressure Washer - What Size | 2022

Описание к видео Do You Need A Buffer Tank For Your Pressure Washer - What Size | 2022

A buffer tank plays a very key role with your pressure washing. You can get away without using a buffer tank in the beginning but it makes life a lot easier once you have one set up.

The main purpose is that it released the built up pressure when not squeezing the trigger on your pressure washing wand. It pushes the water back into the tank so hot water isn't building up in your pump which can cause damage. After 60 seconds of not squeezing the trigger and releasing the pressure you start to run the risk of damaging the pump. Most pressure washers can get away with a 50-100gallon buffer tank for 4gpm and under machines.

As you get into 8gpm machines it is worth getting the bigger 200gallon+ holding tanks. This will not only serve the purpose of releasing the pressure but also give you extra water to pull from.

I personally have a 225 gallon tank that I fill at least half way before turning my pressure washer on since I have a 8.5 gallon per minute machine. I have found that a lot of houses especially ones on well water only will give you about 4-5gpm water which is not enough to feed my pressure washer. I instead fill the tank and have a 1" hose gravity feeding directing into my machine. This allows me to always get the full 8.5gpm water it needs at all times.

If you only have a 4gpm machine then hooking directly into their house should work fine 99% of the time. Either way with a holding tank / buffer tank I still make sure to always release any pressure build up by squeezing trigger every say 30 seconds to be safe. If a customer looks like they have questions or want to chat. I either shut off the machine or disconnect my wand and open my ball valve so pressure isn't continuing to build up.
