Proof of concept of two additional techniques when using only a torch:
1) In the 'rotating beam attack' phase, if you're fast enough to drop the torch at the Scout's feet before its head is fully retracted then it will catch fire before the beam starts and will not be stunned. This will let it burn for the duration of that attack.

2) By either keeping the Scout on fire through the rotating beam phase or interrupting it normally, as happened in this video, the Scout will enter the charged beam phase on fire. When it jumps back it will stay on fire for just long enough for you to run up and make contact with the torch. It will then stay on fire and let you avoid reflecting the charged beam.
