This video demonstrates why it may be beneficial to use nerve stimulation in addition to ultrasound when performing adductor canal or femoral triangle blocks. The motor branches of the femoral nerve may still be in the canal and needle-nerve contact can be detected by appearance of a motor response, allowing the operator to stop advancing the needle before needle encounters, and potentially causes a needle trauma to the nerve.
