The latest single from Anchorsong’s ‘Ceremonial’ album on Tru Thoughts (Number 5 in BBC 6Music’s Albums of the Year 2016) is the attention-grabbing track “Mother”.

Underpinned by intense and characterful, incredibly skilful Tribal drum rhythms, "Mother" is a potent snapshot of the 'Ceremonial' album as a whole, on which Anchorsong (AKA producer Masaaki Yoshida) took a stylistic leap by combining his unique gift for catchy melodic phrasing with idiosyncratic beats and vintage African influences.
