Block nurses play a huge role in regional anesthesia service. NYSORA’s regional anesthesia service substantially increased operating room efficiency and allowed for an increase in daily cases because of the tasks completed by block nurses. This is because ALL anesthetic procedures are performed in the block room (spinal, epidural, and nerve block anesthesia included).
