SCP-2540 is an anomaly that operates under the principles of Tipler physics, appearing as a lime but potentially existing within four or more spatial dimensions. It creates a spacetime "drag" capable of pulling matter into the cylinder and depositing it elsewhere across spacetime, including entire human beings. Video surveillance equipment is unable to properly capture footage of SCP-2540, causing significant visual disruptions when in frame, and manual observation is required at all times.

During an interview with SCP-2540-Alpha, a human who was deposited by SCP-2540, it was revealed that he had been on vacation in Cozumel before suddenly finding himself in the Foundation's holding cell. SCP-2540-Alpha reported feeling sour and surprised during the transition, and mentioned a feeling of being forgiven for intersecting with the human universe. The message left by the entity responsible for SCP-2540 indicates that it will not return for a short time and apologizes for the interference with the human universe.
