Mike: Thanks so much for joining today, guys, we're going to ask you three simple questions and let's see how you get along. The first question is, tell me about your most popular video on YouTube at the moment.
Varun and Sanchit: so on our channel we do sort of two types of videos if you've seen any of them. the way this channel started is we start by doing medical related videos. So inside the life of a doctor some radiologists some psychiatrists. stuff related around that. And then inadvertently, we started doing reaction videos as well.
Varun and Sanchit: So reacting to like Simpsons medical scenes, for example. And those videos do by far the best. It was funny actually. So I think we started off by just doing the medical stuff. And then one day we really needed a video and we were quite busy, I think like you had exams on and I was like changing jobs or something was going on
Varun and Sanchit: and we were just like, oh, we haven't got anything for this weekend. Like, what do we do? It was a Tuesday or Wednesday. And obviously you'll know Dr. Mike, the American doctor and YouTuber, and we saw that he'd done like 10 episodes of reacting to medical scenes and thought. That'll be, it that'll be fun, but we'll, we'll do a proper, you know, in inverted comas video next week.
Varun and Sanchit: I didn't think much of it, put it out. And then I get a text from Sanchit a few days later saying mate, this video is going off and I go into analytics and refresh it every time I refresh it's gone up by like 20, 30, 40, which, for a channel our size is like mind blowing. Yeah. I think normally our videos would just get steadily, get higher.
Varun and Sanchit: And we'd never really see a massive spike in views at all, but this is the first time where literally the graph was just steady and just shot up. Yeah. So yeah, that's the most watched video is the doctors reacting to Simpsons medical scenes And then on the medical side of things, we try and do a series called medical journeys
Varun and Sanchit: where we get on people from different specialties to just talk about their sort of career path and how they ended up doing what they're doing. So obviously we've had, so radiology, psychiatry, oncology, they are a lot more effort and frustratingly, they get less views, but I think it's just one of those things.
Mike: Let's talk about that most popular video. And then we'll talk about your medical journeys ones as well. They're both awesome. I've watched both of them. They're super funny. Why do you think that video really took off?
Varun and Sanchit: The Simpsons one in particular, I think there's two things. One, I think everyone loves the Simpsons. And I think one thing that we've got going for us is a lot of reaction channels are one person watching a show and kind of giving their insights on it or talking about it. Whereas we get bit more of a dialogue involved in that...
