📢After the baby👶 is born, we have lots and lots of ideas on how to connect with the baby but what about connecting with your partner postpartum??
💕Some couples can return to their normal sexual expression postpartum easily but for many, this isn’t the case.
💕There could be many reasons for that including fatigue, sleep deprivation, unrealistic expectations from parenthood, body image issues, physical pain, vaginal pain/discomfort/dryness, a traumatic birth experience, depression, lack of sexual desire, arousal, painful intercourse and even unacknowledged problems in marriage.
💕Many moms experience this and it is perfectly normal. Sometimes having sexual problems can make women feel like they are alone or there is something wrong with them but that is certainly not true!!
📢We discussed more on this with Dr. Stephanie Buehler, a licensed psychologist and AASECT certified sex therapist. She is also the Director of The Buehler Institute in California.
