In this video, we take on the complete restoration of a rare 1952 Delahaye VLR and its Cazenave trailer at the Retro-Méca workshop. Known as the "Super Jeep," this 100% French-made vehicle was designed in 1949 to replace the Willys and Ford Jeeps used by the French army.

The VLR (Véhicule de Liaison et de Reconnaissance) was ahead of its time with its advanced technology, including synchronized 4-speed gears, differential lock, dry sump lubrication, a 24V electrical system, torsion bar suspension, and 4-wheel independent suspension. However, its complexity made it difficult to maintain, leading to production ending in 1955 after Hotchkiss took over Delahaye.

Watch as we embark on a full restoration of this unique vehicle, bringing its body, chassis, and mechanics back to life!
