Marshall Group and the Marshall Amps factory in 2023 reminded me instantly of my visit 11 years earlier in 2011, and of course I drew comparisons to then and now. Marshall are always really great hosts and that comes right down from the top of the company... they love to see you. At that time they employed 'Phil Wells' a really great guy that worked there for at least 40 years and he was a gold mine of info. He retired in end of 2019 sadly.

Today, in this factory tour, Marshall used many different presenters to represent their own expertise and that generally worked very well - you are seeing the (often) team leaders of the particular section and discussing first hand with them about their clear knowledge and expertise. It was great to hear the accumulation of all that skill from those years at Marshall Amps.

Of course in more recent times since 2020 (a watershed for many companies) I'm sure that for any maker things are harder than they used to be, and certainly in my own opinion the simulators of amps will have a slow burning effect on sales. But thankfully for the time being many of those products from others are not as simple as a Marshall amp to use - just turn it on, wait 30 seconds and you as a musician will be playing really great tones - not some half assed excuse that needs three months to get to grips with the software, just a simple amplifier, yet the most powerful and true tone for guitarists that you could ever have. Built to rock!

In the first short section of this Marshall factory tour the audio was compromised a little, but from then on I generally solved all that so its all good video and good audio from there on. When you get to the Marshall studio, sadly they would not use the provided microphone, so the audio is not loud.

The final section is the Marshall live room and stage area which I'm sure many have seen before - for me it reminds me of Gary Moore playing on the stage (its on YT somewhere) - very memorable.

Finally Terry Marshall (link above) discussed a number of topics that were very enlightening and certainly better than what you read about in the sometimes wrong music press. Watch it and learn!
