It all started in the Fall of 2007, when both Katrina and Matt were sophomores at the University of Florida. Katrina and her AOPi friends were making their way around the SigEp house for one of their regularly epic pregames, and stopped by to see what was going on in Room 3. They kicked it off, and Matt tried to pursue Katrina and got shut down. Then again junior year. Then again senior year. No luck, but fate has its way.

The Friend Zone Years
After college, Katrina and Matt stayed close friends over the years. Whether it was ski trips, boat days, or out with friends for drinks on the Ave.

Matt's Big Break
Then when COVID came about, Katrina and one of her girlfriends took advantage of the “working remotely” concept, packing up their bags and driving out from Florida to Colorado for a couple months. During this time, Katrina and Matt were hanging out on a daily basis (so much so that all of Matt’s Colorado friends assumed they were dating). It was during Katrina’s second stint in Colorado a few months later that Matt had enough, and finally gave his pitch on why they should start dating - and the rest is history!
