Weird Eurorack Guitar Sounds - [ Mutable Instruments | Marbles | Ears | Rings ]

I recently got my hands on the Ears module by Mutable Instruments, so of course the first thing I needed to do was just make the weirdest sound possible with my guitar. Can't say this is the most musical thing I've ever done, but there are a couple of interesting moments. I do love that I now have the ability to blend my guitar with my eurorack system though. No doubt further exploration will reveal more musical ideas.

If you have any tips for using guitar with Mutable Ears let me know in the comments below.

Patch notes:

Guitar audio is coming out of my pedal board and going into input of ears (I had a lot of the pedals turned on, phaser, chorus, delay, overdrive). The output is going to Rings. Then I used the envelope from Ears in to the v/oct of rings and the gate out into the strum. Further modulation courtesy of Zlob Diode Chaos.
A second Rings is being triggered and sequenced via marbles which is also modulated by Diode Chaos. All of that is then going into some Reverb and then out.

Strymon Iridium

The Iridium is running in mono mode, the left output has a null IR cab sim loaded which then runs into the Hotone Loudster and from there into my Zilla 1x12 cab loaded with a Celestion V30. I just use this output for monitoring purposes. The right output of the Iridium has the stock IRs loaded which then goes direct to my audio interface.

Me
====
Hey, hope you enjoy my videos. My name is Richard Charles, UK based musician and teacher. I make music under the name Libolei (the name given to me by friends when I lived in China some years ago). Much of my music is ambient in nature, with improvisational elements, centred around synth and guitar, but you'll find other things too. I also teach guitar and music for a living and enjoy drinking tea. :)
