Liam Lawson has finally been promoted to the Formula 1 seat that he’s been promised for so long, but it seems like his aspirations won’t stop here. The Kiwi driver is now focused on the Red Bull seat, and with Perez admitting that he is not looking to stay a lot longer in the sport as he’s closer to retirement than he is to the beginning of the season, the Mexican driver might as well be replaced sooner rather than later. Could this be the beginning of something great for Lawson, and if so, how can Red Bull handle the entire situation given that Verstappen is also uncertain beyond 2026?
One of the most positive surprises for the remainder of 2024 as well as 2025 is Liam Lawson, even though the 22-year-old is yet to be confirmed for the upcoming campaign as he has a contract for 6 races only. Obviously, the current drivers of Racing Bulls are always going to be considered legitimate candidates for the Red Bull seat, but given the current nature of the team, having one superstar driver and one who brings tons of money through sponsorships, the opportunity of being up there is slim to none.
