​In this episode of our Sankofa Education Web Series #12, host Obie Shelton interviews Aseelah Shareef, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Karamu House, the nation's oldest producing Black theatre. Aseelah brings a wealth of experience in arts administration and performance, having previously served as Executive Director of Cleveland Contemporary Dance Theatre and Director of Dance for Cleveland School of the Arts. At Karamu House, she implements operational efficiencies across product lines, has developed new arts residency programs, and curates socially and culturally responsive community arts experiences, including after-school and weekend arts education models for life-long learners. ​
