Soumyajit Paul, a rising star in sitar, was initiated into music by his father Sri Satyajit Pal, disciple of Pandit Manilal Nag.
He was under the tutelage of Pandit Nag's foremost disciple Sri Soumitra Lahiri till the latter's sad and untimely demise .
Soumyajit collaborates marvellously in ensembles while maturing the style of his Guru and Dadaguru through impeccable devotion.He is an "A" grade Sitarist of AIR & Doordarshan-Kolkata, 1st class 1st & Gold medalist (M.A.) from Rabindra Bharati University, President's Award winner and an Empanelled artist of ICCR .
