Since the passing of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) in November 2021, USDOT has announced over $300 billion of funding to states, counties, and municipalities. In just three years, USDOT has delivered tremendous outcomes with the BIL funding. This includes the advancement of over 60,000 transportation construction projects, including 11,200 public transit projects. This funding has made possible improvements all over the country for over 175,000 miles of roadway, more than 10,200 bridges, 4,600 buses, 1,100 airports and 170 rail projects, including the nation’s first high-speed rail. The BIL grant programs have moved forward the Department’s strategic goals of safety, climate resiliency, equity, and economic competitiveness. With over $300 billion remaining under the BIL, the accomplishments under the BIL will only continue.
