What a difference a year makes! Back in 2024, our spring barley trials site had only just been drilled due to how wet a spring we were experiencing.

This year, however, it’s a completely different story.

The spring barley has been in the ground for 5-6 weeks now and, in that time, there’s only been 5-10mm of rain. For now, the crops are looking good with some fine looking root structures but, as Agrochemical & Technical Director David Cairns says, we’re now at the point where we’re hoping for some rain.
