The complaint alleges that the defendants, operating under the name "My Forex Funds," enticed retail customers with the promise of becoming "professional traders" using Traders Global's capital for trading against third-party "liquidity providers" and sharing in trading profits. They reassured customers that "your success is our business" and claimed they only profited when customers did. However, the reality is that Traders Global, not third-party "liquidity providers," acted as the counterparty for most customer trades.

The complaint further asserts that Traders Global actively employed tactics to reduce the likelihood of customer profitability. This included terminating customer accounts using various pretexts, misleadingly assessing commissions that diminished customer account equity, covertly using specialized software to execute customer orders at worse prices than perceived by the customer, and handicapping the very few successful customers to increase overall customer losses and reduce profits.

Notably, the Traders Global pitch had significant success, attracting over 135,000 customers to their trading program since November 2021, resulting in fees totaling at least $310 million. The complaint alleges that Kazmi, one of the individuals involved, utilized the fraud proceeds to acquire luxury homes and automobiles while making tens of millions of dollars in transfers to his personal accounts.
