Your basic suburban American Mall might have wheelchairs or strollers available for rent, but a full fledged indoor taxi is something unique! The Dubai Mall takes internal transportation very seriously, utilizing a fire-engine red suped up golf cart to chauffeur shoppers from store to store.

Despite the golf cart's aggressive styling, the driver keeps safety at the forefront of his mind as he skillfully navigates through a maze of people. Although a mall taxi was a new concept to me, I had seen similar golf cart-type vehicles used at large airports.

While this type of transportation is typically reserved for the elderly or disabled, the Dubai Mall doesn't appear to restrict who can hitch a ride on the indoor taxi.

The taxi itself looks to be modeled after a Plymouth Prowler or Chrysler PT Cruiser. I was first struck by the shiny chrome wheels zipping by as I was shopping at Abercrombie & Fitch.
