“Power” enters cloaked in strength, claiming to shape the world and bend others to its will. But power is always borrowed — strength fades, authority depends on belief, and influence vanishes when circumstances shift. Even personal power arises from causes not chosen: health, culture, luck, time. The cloak dissolves, the figure shrinks, and the illusion of control melts into the unfolding it claimed to command. What remains is presence — whole, indivisible, needing no force. “Power” was never possession — only the shifting play of causes, mistaken for control.
