Picture this: Humanitarian workers, along with neuroscientists from MIT, disaster experts from the World Bank and NASA, researchers, humorists, youth, disability advocates and more, all joining forces with professional acrobats from the Circocan International School of Circus.
The goal: develop new approaches for learning and dialogue about climate risks.

Through many stimulating activities like juggling, balancing tasks and even flying trapeze, we explored how a blend of analysis, emotions and embodied practices can nurture creativity, courage and candor to radically expand how we link early warnings with early action. The ideas that emerged are already being deployed successfully by the Red Cross and partners ~ in settings as diverse as trainings at Cambridge University, performances at the Boston Museum of Science, and sessions from Botswana to the UN Climate Conference (COP28), covering diverse fields of humanitarian policy and practice ~ from disaster preparedness to volunteer recruitment to mental health.
