The Bright Island campaign exclusive to Serious Sam Classics: Revolution takes place after the Mayan but before the Persian episodes of Serious Sam: The Second Encounter. A malfunction with the Mayan gate causes Sam wind up on the titular island, a place in-between realities that functions as a sort of safe haven for space-time-travellers. The Sirians anticipated such an event might happen and installed a fail-safe system onto the island to allow travel back into familiar space.

The island was once part of the lost continent known as Mu, which disappeared during the Sirians first expedition on Earth. An experiment to tap into the Quantum Sea, a plane of existence thought to connect different realities, went horribly wrong and released vast amounts of elemental energy that sunk Mu and transported the island and a large colony of Sirians (referred to as the 'First Ones') to this weird interdimensional realm. Furthermore, the energies then manifested as Elemental Golems the ultimately caused the destruction of the First Ones. Thankfully their technology remains functional, so Sam travels through the various regions of the Bright Island in search of a way out while also fighting off Mental's goons, which somehow found a way onto the island as well
