NEW WATCH HOURS UPDATE for Shorts 2021.
Shorts offer a wide exposure to our channels and since it is a relatively new feature , youtube is going out and about to promote shorts. it has been made very clear from the beginning that the watch hours gained from views on shorts shelf will not be counted towards Monetization, however in the new update on monetization policy it has been made clear that even the views gained from links in shorts description and stories will not be counted towards monetization threshold requirements.
