Transportes Aéreos del Continente Americano (TACA) flight 5 was an international flight from El Salvador International Airport Saint Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez in San Luis Talpa, El Salvador to Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in Managua, Nicaragua, the plane had 77 people on board and 7 crew members, only 41 people survived the crashed

The plane was a 737-222 that first flew in 1969

In the cockpit was 41 Y/O (1953-1994) Captain Diego Manuel Peña, he had 14,700 hours logged into the 737-222 and there was 30 Y/O (1964-1994) Jose Mig
uel Tejedor he had 12,100 logged into the 737-222

On June 4,1994, a Boeing 737-222 crashed while trying to take off from runway 25 in the El Salvadorian airport but the plane wouldn't go up, that was because the plane was overloaded, the plane had 2x the amount of fuel onto the plane than it's maximum allowable weight, leading to its accident

El vuelo 5 de Transportes Aéreos del Continente Americano (TACA) fue un vuelo internacional desde el Aeropuerto Internacional de El Salvador San Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez en San Luis Talpa, El Salvador, hasta el Aeropuerto Internacional Augusto C. Sandino en Managua, Nicaragua. El avión llevaba 77 personas a bordo y 7 tripulantes. Solo 41 personas sobrevivieron al accidente.

El avión era un 737-222 que voló por primera vez en 1969.

En la cabina se encontraba el capitán Diego Manuel Peña, de 41 años (1953-1994), con 14 700 horas de vuelo registradas en el 737-222, y José Miguel Tejedor, de 30 años (1964-1994), con 12 100 horas de vuelo registradas en el 737-222.

El 4 de junio de 1994, un Boeing 737-222 se estrelló al intentar despegar. Pista 25 del aeropuerto salvadoreño, pero el avión no despegaba. Esto se debió a que iba sobrecargado. Llevaba el doble de combustible que su peso máximo permitido, lo que provocó el accidente.
