NEVER TRUST THE COMPANY! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU!!!
We started off last stream with a doozy of a mission! The crew was able to figure out where the ghost mech manufacturing facility was at, and they discovered that the ghost mechs were being made via multiple fabricators that we needed to hack and then subsequentially destroy! We have to use that ring terminal expansion device again as the facility was outside of the chiral network. We need to extract data from the fabricators and then bring the expansion device back to the Magellan so the crew can analyze it! We also have to clear the facility of any remaining ghost mechs.
When we arrived at the facility, it was completely crawling with ghost mechs. One in particular was absolutely massive and scary! We sneak our way through, taking out a couple mechs along the way, and we were able to take out all the fabricators undetected! As we were clearing out the last of the mechs, the giant one spotted us and we immediately got attacked by a horde of mechs! We took a couple of rockets straight to the dome, but we handled the situation and delivered the data back to our crew!
Upon review of the data, we discovered that the supplies, technologies, and trade routes used in the creation of these mechs are the exact same as the ones APAC had been using in the area, leading us to believe that APAC has something to do with the mech creations! I knew these guys were up to no good! Tarman and Fragile let us know that we must be very careful with what and whom we talk about as the entire operation may already be compromised!
We took a quick rest before accepting our next main delivery which was to bring a meteorite to the adventurer. He thinks that the meteorite is from an extinction event from the past, and it may help us learn more about the Death Stranding. The rock emits some sort of chemicals so we need to be careful with how we transport it. We cross a snowy mountain in a crazy blizzard, but we make it to the adventurer no problem!
When we got to the base, the adventurer was nowhere to be found, only his son was at the facility. His son claims that we cannot hook up to the network without his father's permission, and it seems as though his father has been missing for a little while. The adventurer's son is very worried about him and asks us if we could go look for him in his last known location. After a little searching, we find him barely clinging to life, and actually, he's the Dowser's friend that we saved earlier in the game! We return him home to his son and connect their base to the network!
Once again, we head back to the Magellan to have another rest where we find Tomorrow sitting amongst a gang of apples again! This time, they're perfectly ripe! It looks like she's mastered her aging techniques! We go to sleep and wake in the middle of the night to find Heartman kind of stalking us in our sleep! We follow him around the ship until we decide to confront him at a computer terminal. When we go to talk to him, its Deadman's voice that can be heard, wtf? It turns out that when Heartman has his little episodes, Deadman is able to take control of his body for three minutes as I guess Heartman is actually using Deadman's heart at the moment, creating a connection between the two and allowing Deadman to possess Heartman's body via the beach! Deadman admits that it was him who cleared Lou's serial number so that we could live in peace. We have a heartfelt moment with Deadman before Heartman returns to his body completely confused. Dollman explains it all to him!
When we return to our room, we begin to have a conversation with Dollman who seems ready to open up about what happened to him. His wife used to work at some sort of healthcare facility that was overtaken by the tar. There wasn't a single survivor, but Dollman's daughter still wanted to go see her mother one last time. When they arrive at the facility, they find what they believe to be Dollman's wife, and they try to play her a song to get her to remember them. She loses her mind and engulfs the place in tar one more time, killing Dollman and his daughter. Dollman's daughter's soul had been trapped in a doll that she brought with them, and through sheer willpower, Dollman was able to push his daughter's soul out and place his own inside of the doll. After all that, Fragile found him laying in the tar and that's when they started working together!
We go to hook up another environmental observatory, and currently we're completing some side stuff before we go help Rainy out. The president has caught on to our suspicions and is trying to convince us that APAC is not involved, but I know he's full of it!
Let's finish this side stuff up and go help Rainy out!
