Managing risk, distress and trauma in research design and data collection: the first in a new series of ethics in evidence activities webinars from UNICEF Innocenti – Global Office of Research and Foresight.

This webinar, held on June 14, 2024, critically explore the risks associated with interviewing children on sensitive or difficult topics and their implications for planning and designing research projects.

The speakers are:

• Prof. Lorraine Sherr: Professor of Clinical and Health Psychology and Head of the Health Psychology Unit, University of Central London.
• Prof. Shanaaz Mathews: Director of the Children's Institute, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Cape Town.
• Marium Hussein - Research Specialist, Digital Engagement and Protection (Disrupting Harm Project), UNICEF Innocenti.

The event is hosted and moderated by Karen Carter, UNICEF’s Senior Advisor for Ethics in Evidence Generation.
