Michigan State University’s Hidden Lake Gardens near Tipton has added a new attraction that aims to draw guests off the park's driven paths and into nature.

The tree-level walk allows visitors to experience the tree canopy up close to better observe leaves, wildlife and insects. The structure is around 726 feet and includes a suspension bridge and an outdoor classroom for yoga and educational courses.

The bridge, which comprises 374 feet of the walk's total length in two sections, lifts guests 65 feet over the forest floor and brings them within arm's length of tree limbs and trunks.

The Reach for the Sky Canopy Walk is located at Hidden Lake Gardens, 6214 Monroe Road in Tipton and is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Admission to the park costs $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and veterans and $5 for students. Children 4 years and younger get in free.
